Thanksgiving Weekend

We had an amazing long weekend celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends! Our weekend started on Wednesday night with drinks at the Horseshoe Inn! The band Swamptuckey played while many of Matt's highschool buddies came around to drink and catch up! It was a great night!

Thursday was devoted to cooking and spending time with family! We spent most of the day cooking up Mom Kittle's famous mashed potato casserole, a Kittle family favorite.  The Kammers trusted us to be responsible for the mashed potatoes this year and we were VERY excited! They turned out amazing! Here is the "recipe" it's mostly an add and taste type of recipe but you can get the picture!

Kittle Mashed Potato Casserole

1 bag of potatoes (~7-10lb)
2 1/2 sticks of butter
1 1/2 packages of cream cheese (8oz.)
1 container of sour cream (8 oz.)
garlic salt to taste
1 splash of milk to make creamy

Mash by hand and incorporate all ingredients but the milk. Use an electronic mixer to blend until creamy adding a splash of milk. Spread into a 9x13 baking dish, top with a few pads of butter, and bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown!

Before and After

After the mashed potatoes were finished we traveled down the road to Grandma and Grandpa Kammer's for Kammer Family Thanksgiving. There were 17 people and loads of good food! Between the 2 turkeys, rolls, 3 types of potatoes, noodles, lima beans, corn,  cranberry salad, stuffing, and 3 tables full of desserts we were STUFFED by the end of the night! We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends to spend the holidays with!

The table in Grandma and Grandpa Kammer's basement set for 17!!

On Friday morning Milea and Mom Kammer spent the morning gossiping in the kitchen while baking cookies! It was a great alternative to Black Friday Shopping and it was so nice to still have some girl time! Between the star shaped sugar cookies and snow ball sandies I think we are all set with cookies for a while!

In the end we returned to Lafayette late Friday night for a weekend of putting the house back together and getting ready for Christmas! It was an amazing weekend with Family! We are so lucky to have such supportive and helpful parents (on both sides). Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving as well! On to Christmas!!!

Disney World Take 2!!!

Last weekend we spent ANOTHER amazing weekend in Disney World. This time we started the trip with an attempted re-do of Epcots Food and Wine Festival! We spent an incredible day in the sun enjoying wonderful food and adult beverages from countries around the world!

Day 2 was full of Magic Kingdom fun! Everyone was there! Mom, Dad, Nick, Heather, Alyssia, Matt, Casey, Miles, Marlowe, Brittany, and Nick! We had a fun filled day of riding rides and enjoying the Magic that is Disney World! It was an incredible day! Not only did we get to see the parade but the kids and grandkids got to ride the BEST ride at Disney together... SPLASH MOUNTAIN!

Day 3 - Matt and Milea ventured over to Hollywood Studios for a date day! The day started with the incredible back-lot tour, a quick trip over to the Muppets 3D experience,  the "Lights, Motors, Action" Stunt Show, Rock and Roll Rollercoaster, the new Toy Story ride, followed by dinner at the Brown Derby and even  the incredible light show, Fantasmic!

Day 4 - our final adventure began with ANOTHER incredible adventure at the Magic Kingdom including all the kids and grandkids... We both had a great time on Aunt and Uncle duty! Between riding Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Small World with the kids it was an amazingly fun day! In the afternoon we went to Animal Kingdom to enjoy some time as a couple. We were able to enjoy the Dinosaur Experience, Everest, the Safari and even the Tree of Life (It's Tough to be a Bug). The day ended with the amazing light parade at Magic Kingdom and some incredible fireworks.

Overall, we were able to get to ALL 4 Disney parks in the 4 days and spend some incredible time with family! Even though we missed Alyssia getting to become a princess....

We couldn't have asked for a more incredible vacation! May you have a MAGICAL DAY!
