Thursday was devoted to cooking and spending time with family! We spent most of the day cooking up Mom Kittle's famous mashed potato casserole, a Kittle family favorite. The Kammers trusted us to be responsible for the mashed potatoes this year and we were VERY excited! They turned out amazing! Here is the "recipe" it's mostly an add and taste type of recipe but you can get the picture!
Kittle Mashed Potato Casserole
1 bag of potatoes (~7-10lb)
2 1/2 sticks of butter
1 1/2 packages of cream cheese (8oz.)
1 container of sour cream (8 oz.)
garlic salt to taste
1 splash of milk to make creamy
Mash by hand and incorporate all ingredients but the milk. Use an electronic mixer to blend until creamy adding a splash of milk. Spread into a 9x13 baking dish, top with a few pads of butter, and bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown!
Before and After
After the mashed potatoes were finished we traveled down the road to Grandma and Grandpa Kammer's for Kammer Family Thanksgiving. There were 17 people and loads of good food! Between the 2 turkeys, rolls, 3 types of potatoes, noodles, lima beans, corn, cranberry salad, stuffing, and 3 tables full of desserts we were STUFFED by the end of the night! We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends to spend the holidays with!

On Friday morning Milea and Mom Kammer spent the morning gossiping in the kitchen while baking cookies! It was a great alternative to Black Friday Shopping and it was so nice to still have some girl time! Between the star shaped sugar cookies and snow ball sandies I think we are all set with cookies for a while!

In the end we returned to Lafayette late Friday night for a weekend of putting the house back together and getting ready for Christmas! It was an amazing weekend with Family! We are so lucky to have such supportive and helpful parents (on both sides). Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving as well! On to Christmas!!!
